The Law of Physics and Nigeria

Hi peeps, trust we are all doing fine. I think we must be able to review this year as a good year indeed! If you’re not on the path, there’s still some time to strategize and act.

I’ll like to go down the lane of elementary physics now in relating with some processes. Please don’t be put off as they are relatively easy stuff.

If there’s a stationary body (like a football), which of these processes, in their order, will demand the most energy: moving the stationary body, sustaining the motion of the moving body or stopping the body? Think about it well. I will give some clues!More...

In moving the stationary body, the coefficient of static friction needs to be overcome, while the coefficient of kinetic friction must be overcome to ensure its motion. In order to halt the moving body, an opposing momentum is needed either through the application of braking system or another opposition.

These depict the three phases in a project; initiation, sustenance and completion. Please note that the coefficient of static friction is always greater than that of kinetic friction on the same surface which makes the initiation process more demanding than that of sustenance.

I’m not too much finicky about the stages or mechanisms of a project really, though it might make some sense or be of help to someone that needs to start something. I am more particular about the change I feel we all need to embrace as far as our society is concerned.

Yeah, the government of our nation might be wanting in so many areas but don’t you think we are below par as well? Maybe we should take a cursory look at inadequacy in the nation and juxtapose same with the church (not denominations now!). Is it corruption or lies or killings? We have the same operating in the church! In fact, the problems originated from the church and the church must be the antidote too.

We are the salt of the earth! If a soup has lost its taste, you might still remedy it by adding some salt to it. But when the salt has lost its value… it’s thrown away because it can be of no use again! This war must first be personal to begin with. Then, when each one of us is free and delivered, we can take on Nigeria, the crux of my writing, as a project.

Are we consumed by our own wants and activities alone? Are we bothered by what is happening in our society? Have you got any burden? Do you whine when you see children on the street? What about the alarming crime rate? Is the decline in our educational system of any concern to you? How about the environmental decay… pure water sachets littered all over the place? What of the corruption that’s eating wide into the fabrics of our existence? What about unemployment? The Media? Transportation? The health sector? The polity? Etc

Is there any cry within you or are you just concerned about being a millionaire without having a sense of responsibility towards salvaging and sanitizing the society?

Nehemiah was also in the same position and he wept, mourned, fasted and prayed. But he backed it up with action after designing a strategy. We pray but do we really believe in God? Belief is only by experience (revelation) and not by mere reading or listening to a message! Are we really consumed by God or are we in this because it’s the fad? It was never called the facts of the apostles but their acts. Are the deeds of our lives worthy of being inscribed in the bible? Will such speak of revelation, commitments and acts of the believers when read by others?

Are we really disturbed about what Gods concerns are or are we just fine and satisfied going to church? Are we grounded and rooted in God or does the fun of church overshadow every other thing? Are you known in the spirit or are you consumed about success as poorly defined? Are you helping those that can’t help you in return? Are we still in the rat race? Success is not in the abundance of a man’s possession.

There’s a call. It’s a trumpet call to a higher place in God when all we are and have respond to God. Will you heed His call? Nigeria is like a dilapidated house, but have we conquered ourselves in order to restore the society? Are we a governing people, strong enough to bring God directly in our affairs as a nation? Where is righteousness in our land? Where are the righteous? Where is excellence? Where are the financiers and strategists that are not self-centered but God-centered?

Initiation requires energy, but are we ready to execute and initiate the projects God leads us into? To sustain is demanding, but are we prepared to pay the price all the way to the end? We must as well finish strong and well! These are tests of our belief system and commitment! Christianity is not cheap!

I leave you with these inscriptions from The Message. Happy reading and mediation, for there is much strength in meditation!

Eph 3:17  that Christ will live in you as you open the door and invite him in. And I ask him that with both feet planted firmly on love,

Eph 3:18  you’ll be able to take in with all Christians the extravagant dimensions of Christ’s love. Reach out and experience the breadth! Test its length! Plumb the depths! Rise to the heights!

Eph 3:19  Live full lives, full in the fullness of God.

Eph 3:20  God can do anything, you know–far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us.

Eph 3:21  Glory to God in the church! Glory to God in the Messiah, in Jesus! Glory down all the generations! Glory through all millennia! Oh, yes!

Eph 4:1  In light of all this, here’s what I want you to do. While I’m locked up here, a prisoner for the Master, I want you to get out there and walk–better yet, run!–on the road God called you to travel. I don’t want any of you sitting around on your hands. I don’t want anyone strolling off, down some path that goes nowhere.

Eph 4:2  And mark that you do this with humility and discipline– not in fits and starts, but steadily, pouring yourselves out for each other in acts of love,

Eph 4:3  alert at noticing differences and quick at mending fences.

Eph 4:4  You were all called to travel on the same road and in the same direction, so stay together, both outwardly and inwardly.
