Last weekend was actually an unforgettable one with 5 functions demanding my presence: Career Talk and Dinner Party with Student Chemical Society, OAU Ife; Wedding Ceremony at Ife; Dinner with Final Year Students of Student Christian Movement, OAU Ife and Motivational Talk with The Intellectual Group, LAUTECH, Ogbomosho. I am sure; you will be wondering how I juggled all these events in two days. Don’t fret it; I simply used the Pareto’s Principle.

Waking up early on Saturday the 5th was a great challenge as I envisioned the journey ahead of me. Last time I was in Ife was last year when I was invited for a talk with the National Conference of the Student Christian Movement organized by the Ife Chapter That year; I was accompanied by my lovely and interesting wife but this year, I am all alone. The journey to Ife was not interesting but was quick as I headed straight to the Chemistry Pit Theatre for my talk.

Seeing the physical Ife again brought nostalgia but I was immediately saddled with the task ahead of me jumping from one event to the other and finally ending up at the dinner party hosted by the Student Christian Movement. It was an awesome dinner and I refused to get noticed because I was quite exhausted on the previous events. Funny enough, I was eager to dance all the stress away at about 4.30 a.m. on Sunday. My company to the dinner, a regal and model-like friend, was also exhausted from The Student Chemical Society’s dinner and the Student Christian Movement’s dinner.

I could not get back to the hotel room that morning so I bunked with a student till I was able to get to my hotel room at 7 a.m. Funny enough, my phone went dead and no charger was in sight. This was the major decision to canceling my trip to ogbomosho. As I arrived home to my lovely wife  and daughter, I can not but wonder where the strength to attend 4 events where I was the major player after 5 days of hectic work, came from. But as my body was crying for sleep, I knew this was a habit developed from my university days and I was glad I came from such institution;

GREATEST TO THE GREATEST IFE!!! GREAT!
