In the past 3 years, I take my time to watch the X-Factor US and I wonder why participants still confuse their passion for talent. Now coming to the level of career advice, it’s always dangerous to assume and rate your talents especially when you are passionate about them. Being passionate is strength in itself but without talent to back it up, you cannot generate the needed impact to contribute meaningfully. Passion is what fulfills you- it is the fire that burns from within you. Just think about the time that you are passionate about something and you refused to eat.
Often, you will find your talent in your passion but do not confuse the two with one another. If you are confused about what passion is – these questions below may help you:
1. What do you spend your free time on?
2. What energizes you?
3. What do you feel like arguing about?
4. What do you read about?
5. What intrigued you as a child?
