The Opportunity Called Work

I was once tired of the stage I was – I wanted an increase in the output of my inputs – I wanted to increase my monthly revenue from 200k to 400k. After much meditation, I realized there was no external source that will give me such increase without selling my soul so I resorted to praying. Well, I got an answer but not the type of answer I was hoping for – I was giving a “work” to do. The work was a risk and it looked so farfetched – so I decided to abandon the work and gloat in my misery through complaints in prayers. About 8 months later, I saw someone doing the work and I saw the largesse and accolades that came from the person sweat.

Opportuitywork

“God, I am sorry – such mistake – I will obey you next time”

“I give seeds to the sower not fruits – my children are always expecting fruits but I promised Noah that everything will start from the seed form.”

“The work you gave me involved so much hassle”

“You wanted an increase – that was proactive of you – the work was not meant for only you – it is a tied benefit. The first thing I told Adam to do was to “work”; while he was working I realized that it was not good for man to be alone so I prepared a help meet for him.”

The seed comes in two packages – work and relationship. Do you remember the scripture; “Paul planted, Apollo watered and God gives the increase” – you must sow the vision that has been given to you – the sown vision attracts relationships that will water the vision – when I sense the harmony towards the same goal, I will give an increase.”

“Seriously Lord, the work looked impossible”

“The work appears farfetched so you will realize that you need an Apollo. Friendship should be formed as a result of work not work from friendship – this is why most people get hurt in their relationships – they have no shared vision – A three fold cord cannot be easily broken.”

“Okay, that is why it is not good to go into business with your friend but to form friendship from the business”

Silence…..

“How can I differentiate which work you want me to do and the one I should not do?”

“My sheep know my voice but they get distracted by other voices – you should learn to abide in me – the more we fellowship together, the more difficult it is to get distracted by other voices.”

“So the opportunity is work?”

Just as i asked the question, the words of Thomas Edison came to me: “Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work”

And the voice seems to melt away as my daughter comes running in; “Daddy, it’s time for Tinsel”.
