Around April this year, PMI suspended the ban on PMP Exam testing in Nigeria with the Paper based testing. There are so many unanswered question(s) regarding the paper based that so many candidates are not aware of – for example the PMP Paper based exam fee for non-PMI members ($400) are relatively cheaper than the Computer based testing ($555). However, there are some drawbacks to consider amidst the economic incentive:
The paper based is a pre-scheduled (calendar-based) group-testing exam that has deadline for payment. Re-scheduling for any reason will definitely come at a cost. This is not good any level as they have removed the control from your hands. Do you also know that the paper-based exam can also be canceled at anytime especially if the group test is not populated with the average number of candidates?
Imagine the anticipation and worry accompanied with waiting an average of 6-weeks for your result. Not to be a prophet of doom, suppose you fail the exam – this makes it worse and further compounds the issue. I don’t want to touch on the subject of paper-based errors – unintentionally missing answer-boxes, not erasing properly leading to double answers, etc.
Recall that the nearest computer-based exam center is in Accra, Ghana so the choice is between time and money – it is always yours to take especially after being adequately informed.
