As I remembered the effort taken by the POeT Team to complete this project in March, 2003, tears of joy filled my eyes realizing that money cannot buy the creativity inherent in man. One of the attributes of God is to create and man reaches a state of ecstasy when he is aligned with the images and characteristics of his maker. He reaches a point when he acts like god on earth and he adheres to the commandment of God to be fruitful and multiply. The POeT team can scream for joy knowing their maker has been good to them even in the seemingly difficult periods of sourcing for money, encouragement and inputs in order to finish this project but God in his own infinite mercy gave us peace, inspiration and love to face the mountains of life. As I read this manual again I cannot but wonder how true the principles posited in this book are, though I have failed in the past to keep to them. I believe and pray you will find the courage to adhere to them;

INTRODUCTION
   No step in life is more important than the choice of a vocation. The wise selection of business, occupation which one’s life is to be devoted and the development of full efficiency in the chosen field are matters of the deepest moments to young men all over the world. This vital problem should be solved in a careful, scientific way, with due regards to each person’s aptitude, abilities ambition, resources and limitations and the relation of these elements to the condition of success in different industries. It is pitiful to observe that most youths in Nigeria take up line of work to which they are not adapted. This situation is precipitated due to abject poverty lingering in the homes of about 70% of Nigerians. It is suffice to say that in the recess of an average youth’s soul, is a will to break the shackle of poverty so that he takes up a career based on economical benefits alone. What they do not know is that if they choose their vocation so that their best enthusiasm and utilities will be united in their daily work; they have laid foundation of success and happiness. But,if their best abilities and enthusiasm are separated from daily work: if his occupation is merely a means of making a living, and the work he loves to do is side-tracked into the evening hours or pushed out of his life altogether he will only be a fraction of the person he ought to be, efficiency and success are largely dependent on adaptation of skills and values. With this in view, it is therefore important to assess one’s personal skill and values…………
